Not only in education field, they are also extensively used in professional field. Besides having all features of a basic calculators, scientific calculators have special mathematical functions like trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential functions etc. Recently I needed a scientific calculator for my Applied Mathematics coursework in my CSE course.
