Dedh Ishqiya Review From a Typical Hollywood Guy

Even though, in spite of the fact that I am not that much into Bollywood as much I am in Hollywood,I was not able to resist when my friends forced me to go with them to watch the first day, first show of Yaariyan but all the three cinema hall which were in vicinity showed “Dedh Ishqiya”. Since we made complete mind to watch a movie,we bought tickets of Dedh Ishqiya.

Dedh Ishqiya is a story of romance between individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion & deceit directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Vishal Bharadwaj.

The story is connected to the first part.Babban Hussain(Arshad Warsi) and Khalujaan(Naseeruddin Shah) are still doing theft like stealing jewellery from a store.Khalujaan is shot by the bullet while running with necklace.Babban is alone with his brother-in-law who wants his money and threatens to bury him alive if don’t return his money. But Babban cleverly get the pistol and run away. And the his brother-in-law says the epic dialogue to one of his thugs : “Joker mar gaya toh Batman kya karega !”.

Since I am a Batman fan,it touched me 🙂 No matter these days, coming Bollywood movies are very inspired by Christopher Nolan’s movies like Dhoom 3 is with Prestige and Joker is there too.

Anyways Babban sees Khalujaan on TV going to Mahmudabad to take part in Swaymwar of Shahi Begum(Madhuri Dixit) whose husband has died and now wants to check who is best out of all in Shayaris and other stuff like shooting. She is accompanied by his companion Munira(Huma Qureshi).

The movie then takes twists and turns. Some scenes seem very boring when you don’t understand the Urdu language in Shayaris. Anyways Arshad’s comedy timing adds life to the movie. His dialogues are funny throughout the movie. How can I forget Vijay Raaz, the main villain in the movie whose Shayari can made you laugh too.He is the one who want to become Nawab of Mahmudabad.Although he has all property and Bangla of Begum yet he wants her to accept him.

But in the end, both the heroines escape and both the heroes get caught by police which are then bailed out by Babban’s brother-in-law.

I am giving it a 3 star rating out of 5. Must watch at this weekend.
