Indian Gifts Portal (IGP.com) Honest Review

In June, I got the chance to try IGP.com which is short for Indian Gifts Portal. It is an online gifts store which specializes in gifts for all ages and occasions.

I ordered Dairy Milk and Ferrero Rocher Cake Arrangement worth Rs. 1250 and Half Kg Round Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Cream Flowers worth Rs. 745 on 19th June. I forgot to check whether the cake was egg-based or eggless.

So I mailed them: “Hey, I think I have ordered cake with egg base. Could you please change it to eggless base?”. I was waiting for their acknowledgement but didn’t get any.
Next day, I got an email from IGP which said: “Hi Tarun, please find the payment link, let me know once the payment is done.” Since the order was prepaid and nothing was mentioned on the email about the reason for payment, I asked: “Hi Chetana, which payment are you talking about?”.

I immediately got a call from a rude guy at IGP. He was talking like I owned them some big amount. Then I got to know that they were asking Rs. 50 for eggless cake. Its price was Rs. 795.

The guy was rude for just Rs. 50 when I just asked the reason. Had they mentioned the reason for payment on email, I would have instantly paid them without asking.

Anyway after this call, I paid the Rs. 50 online. But this was a big question on customer friendliness of IGP staff.

Later on that day, I received the chocolate cake. It was delivered straight from a bakery shop. Cake was good.

Next day, I received the Dairy Milk and Ferrero Rocher Cake arrangement. I stored them on fridge.

When I took one Ferrero Rocher later in night to eat, I found the taste bad like it had been expired. Then I contacted IGP customer service.

Dipti Poojari, Lead – Customer Excellence from IGP was very helpful and replaced the chocolates arrangement. This restored my faith in IGP’s customer service.

Indian Gifts Portal (IGP.com) specializes in flowers, cakes, chocolates, personalized products, festival merchandise, kids, home & living and fashion categories. They ship orders to 150+ countries (including USA, UK, Australia, Canada etc.) and 7,000+ pin codes in India.

They have same day delivery network in 300 cities in India. They have category-wise gifts and also gifts based on personality like Karwa Chauth gifts which is coming soon.

Overall my experience was neutral. But in the end, they helped me in restoring my faith in them. I recommend IGP for ordering gifts online.

  1. I had ordered flowers for Valentines day for someone and it never reached the person nor i was informed about it at all by you guys. It was supposed to be a surprise for someone and i had to ask the person whether it was received or not after three days when i got to know about it that it was never ever delivered.
When i called the customer care of IGP. i was informed that yeah they missed delivering it without sounding apologetic about it. Also there was no answer for why it wasnt informed to be about that it was missed being delivered until i asked about it after 3 days. You completely ruined the moment and my relationship since the person for whom it was sent responded to me the below:
“Maybe the flowers didnt reach me because you dont loved me enough and maybe the Gods also doesnt want us to be together”
Thanks for devastating mine and I dont know how many other people’s relationship (i am sure you do this often) by this lovely gesture of yours.
May God bless you and this company.

  2. IGP the worst service ever. The order was placed on 13th Feb for Valentines day after multiple calls they said the gift will be delivered in the afternoon. We waited but there was no delivery and no one attended the calls as well. We tried in the evening and they said they have closed for the closed for the day and since they were overloaded they might not be able to make it.So the whole day on 14th is wasted. on 15th we receive a call and they said they will deliver in the morning but later no response as usual. Their customer support is continuously busy. We are going on calling but there is no response.

Why take the orders when you cannot deliver on time?
The concerned person keeps disconnecting the calls?
You are solely responsible for spoiling someone’s surprise.
This is sheer waste of time and negligence.
