3 Best Websites & Android Apps for Mobile Recharge

With an increasing number of mobiles, it is becoming necessary to have enough balance in mobile to connect with family, friends and colleagues. If you have a smartphone with numerous instant messaging apps like WhatsApp and Hike, it becomes necessary to have a active data pack always in your phone. In a world where everything is moving online, you cannot escape the online mobile recharge sites. Moreover these sites provide many coupons and cashback offers which reduce the effective amount you have to pay. In other words, these sites and apps save your time to go to offline shops and your money since offline shops don’t reduce even a single rupee from the recharge amount.

Since I got to know about online mobile recharge sites, I have been recharging my mobile through them. You won’t believe that I have not been to a offline mobile recharge shop since June 2013. After I bought my first Android smartphone Moto G in February 2014, I have been doing the recharge with android apps of these mobile recharge websites. I am listing only the websites I have used to recharge my mobile and DTH.

In this post, I am listing the 3 best mobile recharge websites and apps for your Android smartphone :

1) PayTM

 PayTM

PayTM is the best website and android app for mobile recharge in India right now. Besides recharging mobile, you can recharge DTH, data card, landline/broadband, electricity, gas and bus tickets. The best thing about PayTM is its amazing cashback offers and cashback coupons. For example, I used a coupon recently that gave me Rs.50 cashback on Videocon d2H recharge worth Rs.300. Can you imagine an offline recharge shop or even Videocon official site to provide an offer like that.

PayTM android app is the only mobile recharge app having 10 million or 1 crore downloads. Its size is 6.1 MB. It has got a rating of 4.3 stars.

Now PayTM has become a full fledged online shopping marketplace.Although PayTM is good for recharging mobile,DTH etc but it has to go still a long way in online shopping field since many of my friends complaint that quality of sellers is pathetic at PayTM. Till then, buy from Amazon or Flipkart.

PayTM also provides a digital wallet service in which you can store money to pay for recharges and shopping at PayTM and at other shopping websites, food delivery portals and cab booking services like Uber. Using PayTM wallet at other portals is better than simply paying via Debit/Credit card and NetBanking because you get a certain percentage of money back in wallet. For example, I sometimes pay at TastyKhana using PayTM wallet.

2) FreeCharge
Freecharge is the second best website and android app for mobile recharge in India. You can recharge mobile, DTH and data card and pay bills of landline, broadband, electricity and gas. The best thing about FreeCharge is its fast speed and awesome user interface and experience(UI/UX). They also provide coupons of McDonalds, Cafe Coffee Day, Domino’s etc for Rs 5. These coupons were free previously. Besides all these things, they also provide cashback coupons.

FreeCharge was the first site from where I did my first online mobile recharge. It is clutter free unlike PayTM. It focuses only on super fast recharge experience for customer. Its android app has over 5 million or 50 lakhs downloads.

FreeCharge has a credits service using which you can pay for recharge at FreeCharge. You have to fill it first using Debit/Credit card or NetBanking.

MobiKwik is the third best website and android app for mobile recharge in India. Along with giving the facility to recharge mobile, DTH, data card, landline, broadband, electricity and gas, they go one step ahead and also give the facility to pay for your insurance policy. The best thing about MobiKwik is that it lets you do special recharges and gives cashback coupons. For example, I just got an SMS stating the offer of add Rs.50 and Get Rs.50 Cashback in wallet.

It also provides a digital wallet service like PayTM using which you can pay for recharges at MobiKwik and other e-commerce websites. Using MobiKwik wallet at other portals is better than simply paying via Debit/Credit card and NetBanking because you get a certain percentage of money back in wallet.
